Getting started: The Humboldt Capture Query Tool (HCQT) is an interactive application that helps water managers, scientists, and public stakeholders explore how groundwater pumping affects streamflow and other water sources across the Humboldt River Basin. This tool provides easy access to model-estimated capture and storage change data, supporting informed decisions about integrated water resource management. The HCQT displays 100 years of estimated groundwater pumping impacts, based on groundwater models for the upper, middle, and lower Humboldt River Basin.

Step 1: Select a location
   Click on the map or enter latitude/longitude and click "Zoom to".

Step 2: Select pumping depth
   Enter the depth below land surface (in feet) within the available range for your chosen location.

Step 3: Select pumping duration
   Use the slider to choose the groundwater pumping duration you want to highlight in the report.

Step 4: Plot results
   Click “Plot results” to generate a report with simulated groundwater capture result plots.

Generated report: The generated report summarizes groundwater pumping impacts in three formats: a donut chart showing impacts at the selected groundwater pumping year, a line chart illustrating trends over 100 years of groundwater pumping, and a table displaying impacts at 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100 years along with the selected pumping year. Use the “Print” button to print or save the report as a PDF.
