In 2006, the USGS began the Carson River Basin historic flooding web site. The original web site was a cooperative effort between USGS and the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR), Floodplain Management Program with funding provided to the Floodplain Management Program from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The original web site was developed by Anne Jeton (USGS, retired), Eva M. Bauer (USGS, former employee), Shannon C. Watermolen (USGS), and Kim Davis (NDWR).
The current web site is a cooperative project with the Silver Jackets. For the current web site, Charles S. Savard (USGS, retired) and Toby L. Welborn (USGS) performed the flood frequency analysis. Stefanie L. Adams (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USACE) and Joe S. Griffin (USACE) collected Walker River basin photos and anecdotes. Judy M. Soutiere (USACE) provided project coordination. Shannon C. Watermolen (USGS) and Rose L. Medina (USGS) developed the web site design.
