Study Information

Non-phreatophytic ET was estimated using data measured at two micrometeorological stations at altitudes of about 5,000 and 6,000 ft by using the Bowen-ratio method. The lower altitude site was established in a desert-shrub plant community typical of 66 percent of the area and the higher altitude site was in a pinion-juniper forest typical of 17 percent of the area. Total ET during water year 2002 was 11.5 in/yr at the pinion-juniper site and 11.7 in/yr at the desert-shrub site.
