The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), participates in program efforts to acquire hydrologic information at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) and surrounding area. Data collected from monitoring sites on and adjacent to the NNSS by the USGS and other cooperating agencies are compiled, maintained, and archived by the USGS. These data support various DOE programs such as the Environmental Management-Nevada (EM-NV) Program, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Environmental Protection and Nuclear Nonproliferation Programs, the historic Yucca Mountain Program, and other projects such as the Amargosa Integrated Monitoring Network (AIMN). Depth to water, groundwater withdrawal, and water-temperature data for active and inactive sites that are or were a part of these various efforts are available from this website and can be accessed from the map or dropdown menus below.
